The influence of folk music from various countries is unmistakably present in this triptych. Scottish, Central European, and Eastern-inspired sounds all come to the fore. The third movement of this work is somewhat more challenging than the first two, providing both a test and an opportunity to showcase the orchestra’s qualities.
